About Carmel Counseling Center
History

Clay Barnes, Ph.D.began counseling at Carmel Baptist Church in 1993, and soon a counseling center began to grow, adding David Dixon, LPC-S as Director of the Counseling Center in 2000. Currently ten professional counselors practice at Carmel and the center is open to Carmel church members as well as those from the community.

Carmel Counseling Center is a place for individuals, couples, and families to explore issues that distract them from the fullness of life they desire. Our team desires to help you find hope and meaning as you walk through difficult seasons of life. All of our counselors are licensed by the state of North Carolina, and practice from a biblical perspective.

Carmel's counselors can help you or some one you love gain hope and strength in your life as we encourage healthy life choices that are Christ-centered. Our desire is for individuals and families to work through difficulties with professional guidance and to emerge with a deeper dependency on Jesus Christ.

All counselors are professionally licensed in North Carolina. Christ-centered counseling integrates biblical truth and psychological principles to provide opportunities for balanced growth spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

In some cases we refer to appropriate psychological and/or medical services.
