Carmel Counseling Center (CCC) is a place of hope, healing, and restoration. We provide professional counseling, occupational therapy, and Spiritual direction for children, adolescents, couples, and families.
Our counselors counsel from a biblical worldview, which values people in light of the Gospel story. This approach allows for the healing of the whole person: emotionally, physically, and spiritually. It is our desire that you would find peace, hope, and understanding in your time of need.
Carmel Counseling Center is a ministry of Carmel Baptist Church. The issues brought to CCC can be extremely complex. Anxiety, depression, distressed marriages, abuse, trauma, oppositional children, and children with sensory or cognitive deficiencies. These types of complex issues are specific to professional counselors and other therapeutic professionals who have received extensive training equipping them with the skill level to provide competent and responsible care. Since 1991, Carmel Counseling Center has been committed to providing professional counseling services that are distinctively Christian to Carmel Baptist members and the surrounding community.
Our philosophical framework rests in the Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16-17) believing that the Bible is inspired, trustworthy, and is the ultimate truth. Therefore, our belief is that followers of Christ cannot understand themselves or their situations without a biblical perspective. All of our counselors are Christians and are also trained therapists, who practice with best practices. Our counselors work within various models of counseling such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, EMDR, and Play Therapy (this list is only a sample and not meant to be an exhaustive list of our contract counselors’ training). We believe that the biological and psychological training we have received is invaluable in providing expertise to our clients, while at the same time our professional counselors work from a biblical narrative which provides important realities of life to all human beings.
This biblical narrative is integrated into the counseling process and follows the themes of Creation, how humanity got here (Genesis 1 and 2); The Fall, what happened after humanity got here (Genesis 3) and the heredity of sin (Romans 6:23); Redemption, how does humanity fix the heredity problem of sin and the pending result (Romans 10:9 & 10). And lastly, Restoration, how then shall humanity live in the in-between time of this present world and the world to come (2 Corinthians 5: 17; Philippians 4:8).
Having an understanding of the above four areas keeps the complexities of what we do as Christian counselors very clear. These four areas are the basis of an integrative worldview. As Christ followers and as CCC counselors it is the lens through which we see life. Having said that, how each Christian professional counsels or treats a person varies from professional to professional. At CCC, all our counselors have various personalities, styles, training, and expertise, which creates diversity in the processes of the helping relationship.
At Carmel Counseling Center we have highly trained licensed counselors who counsel from a Biblical Worldview.
